Just got back from our first trip to California, Sophie got to surf Lower Trestles with only 3 other girls in her heat, It was a tough one Meah Collins, Honolua Bloomfield, Caroline Marks and Sophie, The surf was super fun overhead Lowers and was amazing, Sophie had a couple of good waves but Meah and Honolua got the best ones advancing on, but hey Surfing Lowers with 3 people who cares that’s a sick opportunity. The whole trip was spent at Uppers, Lowers, T-Street, Carlsbad, HB we caught some fun surf. Check out Some wave in this video! A special thanks goes out to all of Sophies Sponsors: Whisnant Surfboards, Arnette, Zinka, Freestyle, FCS, Gorrilla, GoPro and Sunrise surfshop for all the support and help. It was a lot of hard work to qualify to get there but well worth it. Congrats to all The Kids that made the USA Team. Hope to be Joining that team Next Year!

We just returned from a trip to Oahu Hawaii, where Sophie trained 2 times a day for 10 days with Hawaiian team coach and Pro Surfer Kahea Hart, Kahea’s program is physical, challenging, and is one of the best. If you want to improve your surfing he is the guy to work with. From Mechanics to mental toughness and wave knowledge he covers it all. There is a reason the kids from Hawaii are winning all their events and this guy has a lot to do with it. Check his site out at: nsschawaii.com
Sophie Won NSSA Open Girls #2 and then drove back to Jax just in time for her final at the Florida State Surfing Championships and took 3rd place in the 14-20 Jr. Womens Division. Way to go Kid! Ripping your way to all finals and surfing solid!
Sophie competed in the Surfing America Prime Event in Atlantic City N.J., She surfed well all weekend Having the lead in the final for over 15 min. That all changed when one of the best sets of the day came in and she wasn’t on either wave. with only 2 min. left she needed a high 4 unfortunately time ran out placing her in 3rd. Overall a great result in the Under 16 division and great surfing to get there.
Sophie took 3rd place at the Autoline rip into a whip grom bash, where the first place kids all won a ride, and the jr. Mens winning a car. Super fun event and all the kids were surfing well in solid 2-4′ clean surf. Check out the video, Soph’s got a few nice waves in there!
Sophie won the Girls 11-14 Division at the Gnarly Charley Grom Surf Series Marineland event. The surf was small but clean and fun, She won all three heats she surfed to go undefeated for the day! Marineland is such a cool spot south of St. Augustine, really cool event!
